If you travel at all you know that when you go someplace you are not intimately familiar with you have no idea where to go when you are hungry. Which place is going to have the best food for the best price? If you are headed to New York this is the ideal book to keep with you. You’ve heard over and over how expensive New York is, but now you can eat out and not spend a fortune. Couple this with a great tourist book that takes you off the well beaten path and you’ll have the experience of your life. I like the layout of this book and the wealth of information packed between the covers. Well worth the purchase. I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.

This is good book for those needing practical advice on how to act while telling a story or giving a presentation. There is nothing new or spectacular here but for those who prefer a religious angle, those readers may prefer this book and get more out of it. I’d recommend this more towards those in the beginning stages. Overall it is a decent book and an easy read. I received an evaluation through Moody Publishers in exchange for an honest review. Since I don’t quilt I asked my good friend who loves to quilt to give her feedback on this particular book. She says the layout is interesting but not for any beginner. She likes the idea behind the book but feels there are much better ways to make your quilt look current, not that there is anything “wrong” with how quilts are already being done. She did not like some of the images and feels the cover would be more attractive with a full color image of a quilt made with the examples inside. I received an evaluation copy of this book in exchange for an honest review without any further compensation.

This would be a good read for someone who has no context or experience understanding that emotions are natural and needs direction with a Christian basis. There’s nothing standout or remarkable for the wiser than average reader on this topic. It’s written to be easy to understand and digest. I could see this as part of counseling or therapy, in which case this would be a very good read. I received an evaluation copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest opinion and review. Parts were nicely done but for the most part I found this book lacking enough substance to be worthwhile. I was disappointed in the lack of references and a few poor bits of advice. Being from a Christian publisher I expected more of a tie in with Christian holidays. Where pictures would have been very helpful there were none. It felt like huge chunks were missing in several sections. Overall it’s a nice read but not something I’d recommend. Very basic information so don’t let the title lead you to think otherwise. Written with a simple language making it easy to read especially for the novice or not-so technical minded. Every basic action is explained and walked through so there’s no guesswork involved. Covers from how to buy a book to highlighting passages and organizing the books on shelves. Great for someone just getting into using an iPad and wanting to read on it or who has a newer Mac and wants to learn how to read books with iBooks on that.
