Adorable sweet story with easy to read fun rhymes sure to delight readers of all ages. The story was charming and well devised. I absolutely loved the illustrations. My son pointed out that they reflected accurate portrayals of the current emotion and said this should be a ten stars book. He took this book after we read it together and placed it by his pillow with his stuffed polar bear, a sign of adoration. This will make a perfect gift for any child. Well worth the read! A Dance of Cloaks by David Dalglish

A Dance of Cloaks (Shadowdance, #1)A Dance of Cloaks by David Dalglish
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Right from the start I was hooked and pulling for Aaron as his story begins with risking his life for what he believes in.
David had the uncanny ability to bring his readers deep inside the world of thieves, assassins and the underworld with such beautiful accuracy. He clearly understands the intricate inner workings and brings his characters to life vividly and with such depth, I’m left hungry for more. I enjoyed each and every page. The entire book is very well written with a perfect plot pace. For fantasy readers, you won’t want to set this one down. Martyr’s Fire (Merlin’s Immortals, #3) by Sigmund Brouwer

Martyr's Fire (Merlin's Immortals, #3)Martyr’s Fire by Sigmund Brouwer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. The characters had depth and flaws and felt well fleshed out. While the third in a series, I was still able to understand what was going on without feeling like I really missed important events. The plot moved along at a fine pace, never slowing too much or skipping ahead too fast. The entire work is well written, intriguing and keeps the pages turning. It wasn’t long before I found myself pulling for the main characters and speaking aloud in response to certain events.

Read the first chapter here.

A Perfect Pet for Peyton by Gary Chapman

A Perfect Pet for Peyton: A 5 Love Languages Discovery BookA Perfect Pet for Peyton: A 5 Love Languages Discovery Book by Gary Chapman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fun easy read great for sharing with a child as I did with mine. Also fun to read alone and it even has activities on each beautiful page. Lovely artwork really adds to the experience. The message of love is delivered beautifully without being preachy or sappy. The oversized design works great as the art shouldn’t be scrunched down on smaller pages and it makes carrying the book easier for smaller hands. This works for boys and girls equally , (and many adults!). There is an app available free from the Apple App Store with purchase of the book, however I have not evaluated the app, only the book. My son (also a huge bookworm like mom) loves this book and says to give it a thousand stars.

Written very well with just the right amount of everything. A story that touches you and evokes deeply set emotions as you embark on a journey you will not forget. Dynamic, resplendent and exquisite. I loved this story from the first page to the last. The pacing was nearly perfect right up to the very last words. Believable well fleshed out characters helped paint the scenes beautifully and weave the silky threads of their tales.

Seven Forges

Seven ForgesSeven Forges by James A. Moore

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well written with potential of even greater things to come from this author. The plot starts out almost slow but captivating enough to pull the reader along into a very intriguing story that keeps your attention and desire to continue reading. The characters fit the genre while not feeling like every other similarly placed character types in other novels.

This is the sort of author we should look for and support. I found very few mistakes and the writing was very well done. Paragraphs where they belong, dialog where it belongs, the right amount of information and a lack of overly done flowery prose that detracts from a great novel. There’s always room for improvement and polishing but this one has the potential of something great. I’m actually looking forward to the next installment.

The Breach Between

The Breach BetweenThe Breach Between by Duncan McGonall

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved how the very start of the book had me hooked and the rest of the story kept my interest. Very well written, intriguing story line and curiously developed characters. I enjoyed the complexities as much as the intellectuality. Refreshing take on the genre.
